Shouldn't be ... I have the US FT-1000D literature that=20
shows 250 in the 8.2 MHz IF for the D.  If you bought=20
yours used perhaps the previous owner installed a 250 Hz=20
filter in the third (455 KHz) which was removed before=20
selling the rig.  If the diode that had to be clipped=20
to install the third IF filter was not replaced, you=20
would have a "dead radio" when selecting 250 Hz (no=20
signal path through the third IF).=20

Only one way to tell for sure ... pull off the bottom=20
cover and see which filters are installed and which of=20
the diodes are clipped.=20
