Yes, many older rigs, of all brands, have parts that may no longer be  
readily available. I see that there has been some success using a lower voltage  
MITSUBISHI #2SC1969 part, with the addition of a voltage regulator, to drop  the 
voltage, to replace the MOTOROLA MRF-485, but I DO NOT know how it may  affect 
such things as 3rd order IMD, especially running at the LOWER operating  
voltage. (I expect that the TX specs would NOT be as "Clean" as original, but  may 
be ok, or perhaps better than average, even so.)-- If ANY rig is very OLD,  
say 5 or more years old, you can EXPECT that such problems may arise!-73,
