[Yaesu] 990 vs 940

 Yup, there were some bad solder joints in the 940 and previous
models that were pesky to repair. I have 2 - 990's and they have
great rx capabilities, can't be beat. I'm a cw op that works DX on
low bands, the break-in is unbeatable, and weak signal reception
is tops on the 990 on crowded bands with big sigs is tops. The 940
is a great radio with good fidelity and acceptible break-in times.
However, if you are a weak signal DXer on low bands the 990 is a
better radio. If you are an occasional DXer and want a nice radio
to spend the day with, the 940 is the choice.
 Ain't it great to be choosing between two of the finest radios
made!
