< I have a very strange case here? This radio was purchased new and never really
use.
I got this from a very reliable ham friend of mine and it was working to some
degree
as far sensitivity is concerned. It acted like typical tarnished contacts in the
band
switch? I can't get it back even to the sensitivity that it had the first time I
heard
it? I put a metered signal gen on it and 3 volts is about S-9 on 80 meters. as
you go
up in freq the meter readings increase to 40 over 9 with the exact same input
volts??
Here is even a crazier part the s-meter shows a higher ready with the int
calibrator
on the lower band than the higher? >

> anyone have clue what could be wrong???

I expect the higher harmonics of the marker osc. to be weaker than the lower
ones.
Sounds like the RF pre-amplifier is not as gud as it was at factory test,
lightning or something has killed a transistor or opened a coil somewhere
in the front end.
