[Yaesu] 990 or 1000?

Hi Renee,

I had both. The 990 for about nine years and the 1000MP for a couple of years.

For ragchewing the 990 is great. Great audio, great receiver, easy to handle.

For contesting and DX the 1000MP is a better choice. Much more useful features
then the 990.

At this moment I use the FT-1000D and Mark V. The 1000D for ragchewing, mainly
SSB and the Mark V for contesting, mainly CW.
