I'll suggest you check one thing, and then you need to
call a heating repairman:
I would assume that you have an older furnace.  This will 
have a probe going into the plenum that will have two 
thermal switches.  One is the hi-tep shutoff, the other, 
set
at a much lower temp cycles the fan.  If you have any
question as to its relibality, replace it.  They are not
that expensive.  Good luck and don't let this go too long.
