Kathi....
Being a former owner of the FT-767GX radio, I found that there are not
many programs which support it. The problem being, the radio is considered
"old" technology, and Yaesu, in their great wisdom, doesn't use a common
computer protocol, as does Kenwood, for instance. Every Yaesu radio model
has a different protocol.
However, you will need a CAT interface, such as the Yaesu FIF-232C or
equivalent. There are web sites where one can obtain information on building
an interface, if you desire.
As far as software is concerned, I was never able to find many "stand
alone" programs for strictly CAT control. However, there are some logging
programs available which will control the 767 to some degree. Win-EQF is one
such program, and RCKRtty, a contesting/logging program, both support the
767. ( I personally did a lot of testing with the authors of these programs
to get their software to work with my 767 ). These two programs are
shareware.
CI-V Commander, found at the DXLabs web site will also control the
radio, and that program is a freebie. You will also find at the DXLabs site,
other radio programs, (logging, spotting, etc.) which will interact with CI-V
Commander and are also free.
Hope this info helps....
Cheers,
