Ed and others thanks for the replies to date, but I guess I need to add more
info on this problem.
I have both the op and tech manuals. I have all the controls and
switches in the right place and have tried them in other positions and
get the usual noise off the sub receiver as if it's on the band. I did go
direct to the sub receiver board with the antenna and same effect. Noise
came up as you would expect, but can't seem to change the frequency.
I took another transmitter into a dummy load at low wattage close to
the 1000D and on 80 meters the only frequency it received on was 3803, on 40
it was 7100. I could turn the sub receivers dial and the display would
change, but not the signal.
I didn't see a need to continue this test on other bands.
I called Yaesu today. This is new on their books and they are looking into
it also, but have not heard back.
Could this be a Control board problem as the rotor control switch goes into
there then out to the display and 2nd Receiver?
Thanks
Maury
