With the TV52-TV69 spectrum gone, I don't think 2-6 will go silent..In
fact, I know its not!! Channel 5 is newly allocated/licensed to a PAX
DTV outlet here in Houston (their analog is currently 49..talk about a
sweet deal) and IIRC there IS a DTV 2 allocated (and licensed??)
somewhere and dont count on NTSC going away in 2006...aint gonna happen
yet :)
AM stereo?? Its coming again...in IBOC :) (a mistake in my humble
opinion..DRM would be better!)..yeah, that WAS a debacle though...
(Motorla's CQUAM is a mistake...yet the FCC's inactions and wavering did
in AM stereo.....heck look at what they will do to Part 15!)
BTW, I work for a radio/TV station group in Houston as asst radio chief
egr as well as the IT admin..the TV DOE and I have discussed the DTV
thing many times and both agree on the points I made above :)
