[Yaesu] FTdx400

G'Day All,
I have just joined this list to tap into the wealth of knowledge that I'm
sure exist's here. I found a FTdx400 at the dump a few days ago, in poor
shape, missing some parts, main tuning knob, shaft bent, other knobs, lid,
top rail of front panel, tubes etc. Has had water in it but I have rebuilt
worse gear in the past.
The first question I have is in relation to the 6KD6 tubes, has anyone
replaced them with more easily obtainiable (read cheaper) tubes.
Second question, I downloaded a FTdx401 manual from BAMA, is this close
enough to the 400.
I am sure I will have more dumb questions in the future but thats enough for
now.
