Subject: [Yaesu] FT-857
Hi all,
I am new to the list so please let me know if I violate any list rules.
Having just purchased an FT-857 + the ATAS 120 ant. I'm looking for any info
that might help as I prepare to mount the rig and ant in/on my 1997 GEO
METRO hatchback.
I want the ant to be low profile and not stick up high enough to hit the
beams in the parking structure at work or the garage door at home.
I mounted the DIAMOND ant mount on the right lower corner of the hatchback
and the ant seems to fit nicely ,not close enough to hit the car when I hit
a severe bump or pothole and the ant. just lightly touches the garage door
in the retracted position.
I intend to use the ATAS 120 for ALL bands ,so any tips on
mounting, modifications, programming etc. and best operating bands with my
configuation will be greately appreciated.
Thanks
Tom
