[Yaesu] FT-2600 problem

I use an FT-2600 in my shack with a stiff power-supply at 13.8 volts. While
transmitting, the display will occasionally shift from the frequency display
to Packet. When this occurs, my voice breaks up and is completely
unintelligible. It seems to happen at all power levels and with no
particular pattern � sometimes it is 100% fine.

Any thoughts? Thank you.
