[Yaesu] FRG-100 receiver / transmitter question.

Hi.
I have a Yaesu FRG-100 receiver that I 'may' decide to use with a CW
transmitter for some hamming. I'm making up an antenna changeover relay to
switch the antenna from transmitter to receiver as well as to key the "mute"
line of the FRG-100.

In checking the manual for the FRG-100 it gives almost NO information on
using this with a transmitter. All it says is closing the mute contacts
mutes the receiver and puts RF attenuation in the path (I "assume" it's
referring to the 6 & 12 dB front panel selectable attenuators since they're
relay controlled.

I hope to get a transmitter with output in the 50 Watt range and run
primarily CW, and while the changeover relay is switching the Antenna to the
transmitter and lifting the receiver from the antenna I expect that there
will be at least a moderately strong RF output to the receiver.

QUESTION: How "bullet proof" is the front end of this thing? Should I plan
on putting a pair of back/back diodes across the SO-239 connector leading to
the FRG-100 inside my Switchbox? I don't like diodes as they can rectify
and create IMD from nearby strong Broadcast stations (of which there are a
couple here).
