[Yaesu] VX-7R Questions

I don't personally own a VX-7, but I have several friends who do. I've not
noticed any problem with the receive audio on any of the VX-7's I've seen. I
would be rather weary of going in and punching holes in anything. If nothing
else, you effectively un-waterproof the radio doing that. Not something I
think I would want to do. I would be more apt to look into something like a
good Speaker/Mic or something if indeed I did find there to be an audio
problem. I can't comment on the receiver as I didn't get a chance to play
that much in depth. I do own a VX-5, and I agree it is an awesome radio.
I've never had a complaint about it. The only thing is, as you say, I would
really like to see true dual receive on the VX-5.
