Take your HT with you and drop by your friendly local police supply store
and check out the black nylon clip-on cellphone, pager, and other small
pouches made by a company called "RipOffs". They come in a whole bunch of
sizes for cellphones, radios, and other small belt-type gear. They are built
like a tank with a *heavy duty* chrome plated steel belt clip. All the cops
around here use them for their personal and "company" cell phones. I
destroyed three or four types of cheesy overpriced cellphone belt clips and
holsters in a matter of months before I happened onto these and bought a
couple (I have to carry two phones at work, and I beat them to death daily).
That was three years ago and they still look pretty much new and work
perfectly. I just got a VX-1R myself and will be getting one up to fit it.
