[Yaesu] FT-1000D Problem

Tried the reset -- etc. I don't think the unit gets far enough to start
the processor. All I see is the S meter light come on and some internal
relay clatters as long as the power switch is on. I removed the skins
and the clattering relay is in the tuner section under the tuner coil
switch assembly. Still looking for ideas.
Thanks
Dave

Suggest that the first thing you may want to do is a processor
reset. There's a key combination in the manual, or I prefer to just
shut off the memory battery for about 30 min to guarantee a complete
reset. See what happens, and good luck.

I recently moved the QTH. I packed the 1000D well and brought it to the
new QTH. Well -- something happened. When I turn it on I hear a relay
clicking constantly -- sounds like it is coming from the antenna tuner.
The display does not light. The S Meter light comes on OK. I removed the
covers and looked to see if any connectors are loose. None were. I have
not attempted to do anything above the visual inspection as yet. I
thought I would poll the reflector before I started digging into it. I
do have the service manual -- it is no help trouble shooting -- at lease
it has the schematics. Let me know your thoughts.
