I have one and used it last Fall with a TS 50 and MP 1 portable antenna
while on vacation on Cape Cod. It worked great. I don't remember any noise.
I bought it about a year ago in Denver and it seems like I paid $89, so $60
is a bargin. It is well worth having one.

anyone have experience with the Radio Shack 25 amp switching supply?
(is it a samlex?) Our local store is closing them out and if it doesn't
generate too much noise I might like to have one!

Interesting power supply, same as Yaesu FT-1023, I think. I have had one for
several years, cool, fan never runs, no problems, no noticable RF hash. My
model
is Samlex 1123.

I bought one and it works fine with my IC-706.
I haven't tried it on any other radio yet. Small
footprint. Fan is noisy.

Hi, Keith,
Does it run on both 110V and 220V, just like the Samlex SEC-1223/Yaesu
FP-1023?
Curious,

Appears to work fine with my FT-847 although I haven't
really "cranked up" the power. Yes, the fan is a bit
noisy but... I have a few computers running in the same
room so it's not such a distraction.

Correction and question:
My model is Samlex 1223. Anybody know if the Radio Shack 22-510 25 Amp
Switcher
is the same?

I bought three, two for myself and one for a friend, two of them were very
quiet, one was noisy on 160 through 20 meters. I did the following and all
units were quiet;
1 Place the unit about 3 feet from radios
2 use tightly twisted #10 wire to go to a RigRunner distribution panel
3 Put a ferrite core immediately at the output of the power supply with 3
turns through the core
4 Put .1 uF, a .01 uF, and a .001 uF capacitor at the output of the power
supply.
Your mileage may vary, I have heard from other persons on the QRP-L
reflector that did and some that didn't have noise.
I was told by someone who owns a Samlex, and he said it's identical to his.

How much are the selling it for???? They are also clearing out the 2 meter
mobile for somewhere around $89.00
What else do they have on clearance that we might be able to use with our
Yaesu radios (to keep it on topic!!) ??

Going price is $59.95, supposedly half of the $119.95 list price.
