[Yaesu] Finally got a radio

Good news for all you Yaesu lovers.

I finally got lucky, and got myself a Yaesu radio. It's not a new radio but
at least it works, and it's not a tube rig either. The radio came with a
Yaesu power supply, and believe it or not the original manual. The model is
a ft-301 with analog display. I have yet not tried it due to the fact that
I do not have a antenna on the roof yet. But that will be rectified
shortly, with a homemade dipole [still waiting for a tuner to come in the
mail]. The radio did not come with a microphone, and a few of the readers
expressed knowledge of the wiring diagram for a microphone. Right now the
only microphone I have is a lollipop one [D-104 Silver eagle]. Which I'm
sure some of you readers will tell me if it's a good microphone or not to
use with this radio.

So the questions are;

What is the wiring diagram for a Silver eagle microphone?
And is there anything I should be aware of in this particular model? [Bugs
or glitches etc.]
Is there any modifications I should be doing to this radio?

P.S.The radio is very clean inside and out, and not very many scratches on
the outside either. I was very surprised when I got this radio how well it
was looked after.
So any comments or questions about this rig will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Hart
