[Yaesu] FT1000D Filter Mods

The only filter you can install for
the sub-RX (at least from Yaesu) is
the 600 Hz one.  Highly recommended
if you operate CW at all.  I think
Inrad also has these.

The 455 IF comes with only the SSB
filter.  I added the Inrad 250 Hz filter.
Wow.  What a difference.  Much better
skirt selectivity.  There are also
slots for 500 and 2.1 kHz filters.

The 455 kHz filters just plug in.
You turn the radio upside down and
remove about 6 screws.  Nothing to
it.

The sub-RX filter requires you to
remove the top cover, then the shield
over a board on the side.  Then you
swing out this board and solder in
the filter.  About a 1/2 hour job.
