[Yaesu] FT-50RD Batteries

Probably weakest link in Yaesu stable is their HT batteries.
I had my first one for the FT-530 fail while still in warranty, and the replacement
lasted about a year. Best bet replace with NiMH from some aftermarket company
or the AA alkaline or rechargeable pack, or both. Jay's answer is right on.
Wal-Mart has an NiMH 4-AA pack and changer for about $12, and the batteries
are 1800mah.
