[Yaesu] Re Shoestring Station suggestions for Hart

Hart,

I'm in the same boat as you and I'm saving the monthly bonuses from work to accomplish this.
My shoestring station: 1)Yaesu FT-897; 2)Miracle Whip antenna, which I understand has its own built in tuner; 3)MFJ Mighty-Mite Power Supply. I chose the FT897 for its portability and HF-to-UHF capability. I understand MFJ carries a switching power supply which can help with potential hash.
