[Yaesu] FT-1000D Tuning Upgrader

Hello Angel,

The instruction manual tells:

"At times, when you slowly start to tune or reverse tuning direction, the
radio will take one 10 Hz step in the wrong direction before it starts
tuning in the proper direction. This is occuring because the
direction-sensing circuit in the Tuning Upgrader needs one pulse set from
the tuning sensor to sense what direction the knob is being turned and will
present no discernible operating difficulty."

Well; I disagree with the last statement. I find it very annoying,
especially when you 'tune around a station', when the radio takes a step in
the wrong direction. This happens every time when you go from tuning to
reverse tuning, and from reverse tuning to tuning...

The fact that the CW tune LED keeps glowing after power-up is a minor aspect
and has in my point of view nothing to do with operating difficulties. The
problem with this Tuning Upgrader is the fact that he takes a step in the
wrong direction every time you go up or down in frequency.

73, Hans Remeeus.
