Brian,
My experience, FWIW.......
I have used W&W Associates (also known as Battery Tech) and Batteries
America (fomerly Mr. Nicad).
Over the past ten years or so, I've bought both NiCd and NiMH batteries
from W&W and have had good luck. Also, their warranty service is great.
On the two occasions when there has been a problem, I returned the
defective batery to them and they sent a brand new replacement, no
questions asked. Both types of batteries can be charged with no problem
using the radio manufacturer's drop-in rapid charger.
On the other hand, I bought my first ever batteries from Batteries
America at our annual hamfest last June and have been very disappointed.
I purchased several NiMH batteries and have nothing but trouble trying
to charge them in the radio manufacturer's drop-in rapid charger and
with a Maha charger that can charge both NiCd and NiMH.
