If you had someone look outside and confirm that it is not rotating correctly ? often the motor driving the indicating system in
the control box will get carbon from the brushes heavily layered on the armature and give erroneous readings .The cure here is to
disconnect the leads on the motor then apply about 15/20 volts dc to the motor momentarily then change polarity doing this appears
to burn off the carbon deposits .Replacing the motor is not a job that I would under take lightly it could very well make the blood
pressure rise to a dangerous level .good luck Morrie

Subject: [Yaesu] G-1000SDX Rotor

Hello to the net,

I have a Yaesu G-1000SDX rotator and it was working fine till about 2 hours
ago. It is working erratically and I can't vary the speed of it. I
accidentally hit the preset, but I don't
thing that is the problem. It will only go so far sometimes, and other times
it will go completely around like it is supposed to do. Has anyone out there
and had this problem with theirs, and does it mean replacing the control box
? I don't have the luxury of waiting for Yaeusu repair to fix it. Being
visually impaired, I rely on it to work for me via computer control. Thanks
for the assistance, 73 and g.b.

Kind regards,
Marty, W3QK
