[Yaesu] FT-1000D knob falling off

Hello Rick....
    I can't speak for the FT-1000D, having not owned one. But I did have the
FT-757, FT-757GXII, and FT-767GX radios. Assuming the FT-1000D has a similar
set-up, you will notice that the knurled part of the VFO knob is slightly
raised from the body of the knob. On the FT-757, et al radios, if you slip a
very thin, not sharp, object under the knurled part, you will see that it is
similar to a rubber band. You can gently lift it up and slide it from the
knob. This will expose the set screw(s) holding the knob to the shaft.
I can only assume that Yaesu had the same set-up on their FT-1000 series
radios.
