The short answer is yes there are adapters readily available.

The catch though is that they use drivers to support them.  This leaves one
more program to clash with whatever else is running.  Plus, I don't know
without trying it, whether or not your program will work with it.  I have
never used one before and don't know how they are re-directing the serial
ports.  Some programs may need a real serial port.

Another alternative, is to buy a used (laptop or desktop) system dedicated
to connecting to your radio equipment.  People are just dumping them in the
landfills by the thousands since they won't run the latest programs.  That
obviously isn't your problem as you want to run older software that still
supports RS-232.  I am assuming that new versions of the software will
support USB.
