[Yaesu] FT757 tuning knob

Is anyone out there familiar
with restoring the tuning knob
mechanism on the FT757?  My
knob has cracked and doesn't
grip the shaft anymore.  The
shaft bearing seems to wobble
and need lubrication.  I am
concerned that simply replacing
the knob won't allow me to
spin the knob freely with the
finger hole.  As you know if 
you own a 757, the tuning is
slooooow, so you need to be 
able to crank it.
