Hi Nick,
I've had good luck in reaching folks at Yaesu amateur support using the tech
support phone numbers listed on their web site:
-------------
Amateur Technical Support (8 am - 5 pm PST):
(714) 827-7600
(714) 527-9031 FAX
Email : [email protected]
Mailing address:
Vertex Repair Department
10900 Walker St.
Cypress, CA 90630
Remember that even radio techs need to go to lunch.... and remember to
insure shipments to them.
If you do send a fax or email as the first contact, then give them a few
hours to get your request routed to the appropriate tech before follow-up
calls. It helps them if you include the complete model and serial numbers.
It appears that they keep good revision history. I would hazard a guess
that they have copies of user manuals for most everything they ever made.
Be gracious and offer to pay for at least the costs to copy and postage.
Service manuals were, for as long as I can remember, a chargeable item.
Of late, quite a few users noted that Vertex has been sending out
inexpensive parts at no charge. I think they 'broke the code' that
invoicing costs for a very inexpensive item are more than the item itself.
A great indication of good customer service.
73, Frank
