I don't know if any of you have problems with your headphone jack on your
FT-1000, but I sure did.

I would have to wiggle the headphones in order to get it to work.

Well, I finally gave the parts department at Yaesu a call and got the
replacement part. It's actually a little PC board that has both the key
jack and head phone jack. The cost: $8.00 or so.

It took me about a half hour to open the radio, remove the old board and
solder the new one in place. It is very simple to do and if anyone is
suffering from the same problem I had, I really recommend you getting the
part and fixing it! All you need to know how to do is take apart a radio,
unsolder a couple of connectors, resolder those connectors and reassemble
the radio!

The Yaesu part number is CP2227001 if I am not mistaken.

If you want more detail about how to do this, e-mail me privately and I can
give you almost step by step instructions.
