The vast majority of modifications were as a result of Yaesu's
Engineering Change Notices. They are documented in the "FT-1000
Technical Suplement" and were incorporated in production lot 9
(s/n above xx0090000). Yaesu (California) would, at one time,
install the Engineering Changes in the early radios free of
charge.

One would need to get a release from Yaesu to post the ECNs.

The relay can be disabled with a switch (it's in the manual). I
strongly recommend building a solid state relay driver and running
it from the "band data" (DIN) plug ... really saves wear on the
little reed relay (and noise).

The only non-Yaesu mods of any real value I know of are the W8JI
key click elimination and noise blanker mods. They are documented
at N1EU's web site: http://www.albany.net/~bg/index.htm along with
a couple other modifications that have some special application
interest.
