[Yaesu] FT1000

I have just acquired a secondhand FT1000 in beautiful condotion.  It has the
BPF-1 and is loaded to the 1000D spec.  I notice in Peter Hart's review in
the June 1991 RadCom after the early versions of the rig modifications were
made to improve performance particularly in the receiver dynamic range.
There is no mention of this in the QST Review of March 1991.  The one I got
was purchased originally in Oct 1991 and the serial number is IC 110055.
Would someone on the list know when the particular mods referred to were
done and whether before or after my serial number.  I saw  on the net
somewhere a mod about replacing signal diodes in the front end.  Could
someone point me to information about this, what it does and whetheer worth
considering.  Many thanks.  Reply off list if this is a well worn topic
