The ACAS is really spelled ASAC and it is not a tuner but a controller (actually
a series of them now) made to adapt the ATAS 100 (or any other DC powered
screwdriver style antenna) to other brands and models of HF radios such as the
Icom 706 series.
Regarding the ATAS 100, it was designed with a dual op amp control scheme, 8VDC
makes it go one way (up I if I remember correctly) and 12VDC makes it go in the
opposite direction.
