I asked the Yaesu rep at Hamcom and he said the "green wire" mod at 
http://www.mods.dk/ would work and allow the 920 to transmit on 5 MHz.

Has any information been made available about the possibility of
covering the new 5 Mhz. band with transceivers like the FT-920 and
