I concur, and I've had excellent response from Yaesu service (on my
FT-736R, in fact)   The FT-817 is a fantastic piece of gear and has an
excellent reliability history.

Having purchased a VX-5R, FT-90 and an FT-817 within the past year or
two, I have nothing but praise for Yaesu and would encourage those who
prefer to use alternate service resources to contact those that have
been posted here.

But not all of us have had the same experiences with Yaesu that
unfortunately some have had.
