Hi Nick, before you get to excited about your
problem, Just open the top cover an gently press
on top of the two pots that control the visual ALC
meter indication...If you don't have the technical
supplements with the all schematics and parts layout
Let me know and and I will try to help....
For what its worth, I run my FT-102 with Mic gain at
9 o'clock position with a MD-100 and a MH33 hand Mike.
I found that position to be normal for Yeasu mikes
This was found to be optimum using a RF probe and a
Scope... Anything higher caused some flat topping.
The Heil may require more Mike gain... Dont
have one so can't say. At any Rate, if it just
happened over the weekend, Floyd is right about a relay..
