To check the Version number, press and hold BOTH the 1.5 and 7 keypad
keys, and then turn on power.

I have two FT-1000D's. One had V 5.84, the other was newer with
the latest version 6.00.
I copied the EPROM from the newer radio, and burned a new EPROM and
installed it in the older radio. Worked great.
