[Yaesu] FT-100D difficulties

I've just acquired an FT-100D (traded for another rig because the
FT-100D has some features that are important to me) but find that the
new rig has a couple of problems. I am hoping that this is a matter of
me not fully grasping some of the programming features of the rig!

First, no transmitter output power on 160, 75, 15, 12 and 10 meters, not
even an indication of PO on the LCD display. Other bands work fine on
SSB, AM and FM (I've not tried digital modes). 432 shows PO on the LCD
display but my wattmeter shows nothing (a URM-120 with 3 known good
slugs that cover 432MHz...all show zero).

And, second, no transmitter keying on CW on any band. I've followed the
operating manual instructions on CW operation (using the internal keyer,
which is working...I can copy the sidetone) but the rig doesn't go into
the TX mode at all when the keyer is activated.

I hope there is a simple solution to my difficulties. I *have* looked
through the manual thoroughly and have done the re-initialization of the
CPU to restore defaults so I have a known baseline from which I can
work. Any suggestions will be appreciated!
