[Yaesu] FT-8500 takes lightning spike

Hello there:

There were some pretty powerful thunderstorms here yesterday afterwhich I
noticed that my FT-8500 was off and could not be turned on.  The inline fuse
was intact but with some condensation inside it (?). Checked the diodes
inside and all was well. HMmmm... Well, I buttoned it up again and connected
power and it came on ! All the functions appear fine and my memory storage
was untouched, but the LCD backlight was off.  Checked the setting for
dimmer in the settings and nothing - no backlight. The LCD contrast was fine
so I turned it up to max.

Anything that I can do from here or do I just count myself lucky that I have
a functioning radio ?
