[Yaesu] Tx Mod question from the boondocks

want to get the expanded TX mod, and the sites say to "remove JP1011"

i've located it, but my shaky soldering hand is reluctant to melt down
half the rig's innards, and I'm a ways off from anyone younger &
steadier that I'd trust.

is there an alternative to de-un-soldering that thing, to get it out of
the circuit...it LOOKS like a "snip" might do the trick.

anyone tried that?  or any other suggestions?

by the by, I hadn't heard about the memory problem, and neither had my
rig.  i've left it turned on continuously in my truck since I got it at
Christmas; the display disappears for a ssecond when I start the truck,
but I've yet to lose any data even once.   Maybe I got a "new  &
improved" edition?

Anyway, looking for an idea on getting that jp1011 disjointed.
