Well, as some of you lucky guys know, I was active last Friday night on Es, and last
Saturday morning before the VHF Contest on FT8. My 6M6XHG was up on a 25' high mast
on top of the mountain, fed with 50' of LMR600 Ultra Flex low loss feedline. Then,
just as the contest began, my 6M1K2 amplifier quit, and I was left with only my
barefoot FT-857. Given the fact that few people were answering my CQ's, I decided not
to chance staying up there with the severe winds and thunderstorms moving in. So, I
spend several hours tearing down as the winds became quite strong, and I drove home
Saturday night. There is still a chance I may be able to activate DN37aa later this
month with a small system for those who still need it.

In the meantime, I am now very busy getting ready to leave Thursday morning to be QRV
with KB7Q from theconfluence of DN55/56/65/66. Hope to CU from out there with 350w
and my 6M8GJ yagi. The extra 2.25 dB gain from my larger antenna will come very close
to making up for the reduction in power available. We hope to see you starting Friday
night!
