Very sorry to hear about Don's passing.
He was a real competitive contester, and was always in every VHF.UHF contest that I can remember., for the past 20 years.
I'll never forget the beginning of a June VHF Contest, maybe 10 years ago, or so, and we had just gotten our 6/2/432 Rover Station going in Phoenix, headed back to CA.
First contact was Don, on 50.125, sounding just like a local, pounding into Phoenix. It was just like I expected it, and there he was, the rare and elusive CM98.
His voice was distinctive, and he could always be distinguished from the noise and the rest of the QRM. That bit of the East Coast was always in there.
Best regards and condolences to his family.
