Greetings,

This weekend is the ARRL September VHF Contest, September 9-11, 2017.

The contest begins 1800 UTC Saturday (11am local) and ends 0259 UTC Monday.

The suggested NorCal 6M WSJT-X "Activity Hours" are Sat 1400 to 1800 local (2-6pm) and Sun 1000 to 1600 local (10am-4pm).

The new mode, FT8, is the current rage this year.

The frequency is 50.313MHz.

Please upgrade to the latest release of WSJT-X to take advantage of the improved performance and added features of FT8.

WSJT-X 1.8.0 "Release Candidate #2" can be found at https://www.physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/K1JT/wsjtx.html

If you're upgrading from "wsjtx-1.8.0-rc1" or a development build, you'll need to do a one-time reset of the default list of suggested
operating frequencies. Go to *File->Settings->Frequencies*, right click on the table and select *Reset*.

Note: If you're upgrading from any version of wsjtx-1.7.0 or older, please disregard above.

Other WSJT-X modes like JT65, QRA64 and JT9 are welcome also.

The frequency is 50.276MHz.

As allowed by ARRL VHF contest rules, you can spot, self-spot, coordinate QSOs, and seek or share information at:

The Cali VHF UHF Page http://www.n6sjv.org/

So don't be shy.

Please, try multiple times during the suggested hours. Spread out, call or answer CQs and have fun!

Thanks Tom WA6OSX

PS. Other suggested FT8 frequencies, for this contest, are 144.174MHz and 432.174MHz
