Hello,

Some information on my last 4 mornings of meteor scatter activity and Leonids.

Nov 16 1400-1700Z. Conditions and activity were both very good. It seemed much better than a typical weekend.

Worked 50mhZ: K7ND CN87, W7JLC DM34, K6RSJ CN94, KQ6RS DM12, VE7DAY CO70 and several others decoded.
Heard 144MHz: VE7AFZ CN89, W6ATB DM13 and W3XS CN74

Nov 17 1500-1700Z Conditions seemed very good but activity was down.

Worked 50MHz: KE7MSU CN85, K7TM DN17 and a several others heard.
Worked 144MHz: VE7AFZ CN89 coordinated online. 30min QSO had a slow rate with good decodes and "flurry" of pings at end.

Nov 18 1400-1700Z. Saturday morning "supposed" peak with lots of activity and great conditions.

Worked 50MHz: N5JEH DM65, K7JIZ DN40, KX7L CN87, N7MWV CN86, K6RSJ CN94, W3XS CN74, W7BA CN87 and plenty more heard.
Heard 144MHz: K9VSW DM76

Nov 19 1400-1700Z Conditions were good, better then normal, but a much slower rate than the day before and lower activity.

Worked 50MHz: W7OJT DM24, AA7DJ DM37, W3XS CN74 and a few of the weekend ping regulars decoded.
No 144MHz activity was heard.

Notes: Most of my QSOs were randoms with stations moving to my QRG and answering my CQs. Several QSOs took under 5min
with none longer than 22min. Two 50MHz and one 144MHz QSOs were coordinated online. One busted QSO when station vanished.

Thanks everyone for their interest, activity and contacts.

Greetings,

The Leonids meteor shower is active from November 6th to 30th this year.

During recent mornings here on the west coast, the meteor scatter conditions on 50MHz
have been good to very good.

A fair rate with many loud and long pings have been experienced, especially on the
north/south paths.

Leonids "supposedly" peaks in the next couple of days, possibly November 17th
or 18th.

This may be a good opportunity to make a few MS QSOs??

Conditions are always best near dawn and linger for a couple of hours afterwards.

I'll be active during the next few mornings.

Monitoring 50.260 and 144.150 MHz, while looking for randoms QSOs on 50MHz and
coordinated QSOs on 144MHz.

I typically call CQ "nnn" with split VFOs and always list my QSX frequency in
my CQ. Usually it's "268" (50.268MHz).

So please, QSY and don't be shy!

I also will be online for coordinating QSOs, info, queries, etc.

You can find me at The Cali VHF UHF Page http://www.n6sjv.org

Everybody is welcome to use this site. Registration is easy and no email is required.

I hope to work you. Thanks
