Greetings,
The Leonids meteor shower is active from November 6th to 30th this year.
During recent mornings here on the west coast, the meteor scatter conditions on 50MHz have been good to very good.
A fair rate with many loud and long pings have been experienced, especially on the north/south paths.
Leonids "supposedly" peaks in the next couple of days, possibly November 17th or 18th.
This may be a good opportunity to make a few MS QSOs??
Conditions are always best near dawn and linger for a couple of hours afterwards.
I'll be active during the next few mornings.
Monitoring 50.260 and 144.150 MHz, while looking for randoms QSOs on 50MHz and coordinated QSOs on 144MHz.
I typically call CQ "nnn" with split VFOs and always list my QSX frequency in my CQ. Usually it's "268" (50.268MHz).
So please, QSY and don't be shy!
I also will be online for coordinating QSOs, info, queries, etc.
You can find me at The Cali VHF UHF Page http://www.n6sjv.org
Everybody is welcome to use this site. Registration is easy and no email is required.
I hope to work you. Thanks
Tom WA6OSX
Note: MSK144 T/R 15 s, sh unchecked and contest mode off. Changes made by request.
