[Wswss] Hi from W6PNG and gauging interest in 2m SSB from Los Padres Forest Friday June 23

Hi all

I just joined the mail group and by way of introduction I am quite active in the Summits on the Air program (http://www.sota.org.uk <http://www.sota.org.uk/>) which simplistically is a program to encourage mountain top activations.

I’m keen to expand my horizons beyond HF SSB would like to try 2m SSB tomorrow (and other days in future) from some local LA mountains.

In particular I’ll hopefully be on these peaks Friday June 23rd;


18:15 UTC	11:15 PST	SC-001 (Cerro Noroeste )	
20:45 UTC 	13:45 PST 	SC-002 (San Emigdio Mtn) on the Air	
23:30 UTC 	16:30 PST 	CC-003 (Frazier)	

Most are up at around 7-8,000 ft west of the Grapevine and should provide some coverage into the LA Basin.

Given heat, hike length etc I’ll definitely operate 2m SSB on Frazier and hopefully the other two.

I’ll operate a Yaesu 857 @ 25 watts into an Arrow 4 element Yagi horizontally polarized.

I’ll call on 144.200 Mhz and would love to get you in my log!
