It's great to hear so many operators are gearing up for next weekend's
contest. I will attempt to get access to Frazier at least through Saturday
night and will have 2 through 10 GHz. N6NB's Panorama Heights location will
be active through 24 GHz. The unstoppable roving duo of N6NU and K6ML will
be traversing the Central Valley with 10 and maybe 24 GHz, and W6TEwill take
2 through 24 GHz into the mountains east of Fresno. N6TEB and K6WCI are
taking 5, 10 and 24 GHz into the San Gabriel Mountains. W6DXJ will have 2
through 10 GHz (allow time for band changes), , and I've heard indirectly
that W6BY and N9JIM may all be out and about with 10 and 24 GHz. N6RMJ and
others have said they will get on from home or for brief periods during the
contest.

Thanks to the CACTUS System for allowing contest participants to use it for
liaison during the event. Although the system traffic will probably not
approach the level it reaches during the 10 GHz contest, it will still be
helpful to go full duplex so as to minimize coordination collisions. NC9RS
will also be used by northerly stations.

In an effort to compile a quick-reference book, I've started with a listing
(attached) of true bearings between Frazier Peak and grid locators I have
worked in other recent contests. Some of these are rover stops, so I don't
have good place names or other descriptions for them. If you can contribute
any fills, corrections or additions, please do so, and I'll update the list.
If you have compiles a similar list for other microwave locations, I'd be
happy to add it to the reference book.

In addition to CACTUS and possibly NC9RS, I will have my cellular phone on
for liaison; the number is 818-983-1790.

I apologize if I left any planned operations out of this message; I just
compiled what had been told to me. Please post your own plans on these
reflectors to we can all be on the lookout for one another, make contacts
and have fun!

73,

Marty N6VI
