Pete, N6ZE, operated the Fall 2013 70 CM SPRINT from a minor hill within the
city limits of Thousand Oaks, CA (DM04ne). N6ZE operated from 1900 PDT until
2000PDT and made 8 QSOs in 2 grids: DM04 & DM03. CM98 was heard but not worked.

Score: 32 points total

Comments:

1. Poor activity levels and postfrontal weather made for a dismal
Sprint.

2. For the last couple of years, I have typically posted Spring & Fall SPRINT announcements to a couple of local radio clubs, local ACS/RACES/ARES membership, PNWVHFS, W6YX VHF. Most posts to WSWSS either bounce or are published only after long delays.

3. I 'suffered' through 4 of the 5 Fall 2013 Sprints: 6m: 2Q/1G from DM04 QTH; 2m: 0Q/0G but monitored 8 stations as N6ZE/mobile 7 on cruise ship in CN88; 135cm: 10Q/6G from DM04qb @ 220 ft in SMO Mts.; 70cm: 8Q/2G from DM04ne.

4. Now for good news: We still have the use of traditional amateur radio frequencies!!!

5. Now for bad news: GET ON THE AIR or we shall lose them!
