To our fellow VHF contesters:
N6VI and company will again be operating multi-transmitter on ten bands (50 MHz through 10 GHz) from Frazier Peak in Southern California (DM04ms) during next weekend's ARRL VHF Contest. We will have SSB, CW and FM on all bands, and this year we're adding FSK441 on 50, 144 and perhaps 432.
We invite those of you in the western states whom we cannot work terrestrially or on E-skip to schedule meteor scatter contacts on 50 and/or 144 with us any time between 0500Z and 1400Z Sunday (our Saturday night and Sunday morning). We'd also welcome a few FSK 441 contacts Friday night or early Saturday morning to test things out before the contest starts. Please contact me (n6vi at socal.rr.com) and we'll set up the details. During unscheduled time slots we will be looking for random contacts on 50.170 and 144.170, alternating between SSB or CW (<35 WPM) and FSK441. When CQ'ing on digital, we'll be sending first sequence, with 30-second intervals. In all cases, the exchange will be four-character grid square.
Please let me know your preferred time slot and we'll set it up. We'll have 500 Watts on 50 MHz and 700 Watts on 144 MHz, operating from 8,000 feet with a clear shot in most directions. We hope to work you and wish you all good luck. Have a safe and enjoyable contest.
73,
Marty N6VI
