Subject: [VHF] Propagation alert, 10 Nov.
The latest report I've seen indicates one or two shockwaves from
ME's are heading this way. Significance? Increased solar wind
peed affects the geomagnetic field and of interest to us, increases
he geomagnetic activity. Usable AU at the mid-latitudes? Maybe.
The solar flux values have been high enough recently that I have
xpected transcon F2. I did note an F2 contact reported between AR
nd DL this morning. K7RWT told me he has seen the MUF to the East
oast up to 48 MHz this week. I believe the geomagnetic activity
ver the next few days should be enough to kick the MUF up to 6M.
So, I would suggest having the 6M rig on and check activity
eriodically thru the weekend.
