Not having a large local group of 222 ops did not seem to be a hinderence 
because the band propigated so well.

Russ KA6BGR, who lives just anout 10 miles from me 
was always working guys down in Sacramento and up north
in Portland with just a 5 element yagi on a broom handle, ultra 
cheep antenna and low power transverter (he now has a nice transverter
and 400 watts).

As K7XC observed, 222 is really a great propigating band, just need 
to get all the guys with gear to get back on.

That is why I got fired up with a couple of big antennas and kW+ power,
just in time for every one to loose interest, oh well, maybe this discussion 
has re-kindled some interest. My Radio is always on and I am
interested in skeds.
